GirlGoTravel: Female Solo Traveler Feature #13

I asked fellow traveler and blogger (Getting Your Shit Together) to share one of her solo travel stories. Theresa has traveled solo many times since living and teaching in Japan and interning in Romania. There is too much to see in the world to wait for people to join her. This time it was Portugal's wine, cobble stone streets and association with magic that called her name.

While I was in Porto, I spent 2 days exploring the city itself and was charmed by the people and the city.

I was also lucky to experience a football game! I’ve always wanted to be in the crowd of football lovers, chanting, singing and cheering. What made it even more awesome was seeing my favorite goalkeeper in action!

From Porto I traveled on a train to Lisbon and made a pit stop in Aveiro.  It’s known as the Venice of Portugal. It’s small and quaint and I spent a few lovely hours there wandering about town.

Once I arrived in Lisbon, you can feel the vibe is different from Northern Portugal. It’s more eclectic, urban, hip, and easy to get around.

I took a day trip from Lisbon to Sintra and got to see Qinta da Regaleira, a must see gothic mansion.
