Havana, Cuba This beautiful street was made for people like me--travelers who want photos! The Capital and reality. It's interesting to walk through Habana Centro. It's colorful like Habana Vieja but not as touristy. Centro Habana Antonio, a friendly local that knows how to model. A couple of kids playing in the yard in Vedado, where I stayed. I saw multiple groups of guys playing dominoes on the street. It reminded me of how much I played the game as a kid. Just practicing my street photography skills with Habana's colorful buildings. The view from the rooftop of the Iberostar Hotel Sunset is always beautiful on the malecon (ocean drive). Vinales, Cuba Vinales is a UNESCO heritage site for obvious reasons. The valley is mostly occupied by sugar, coffee and tobacco farmers. The entrance into a cave! In town the casa particulares all looked the same. So cute and colorful.P.S. Casa particulares are rooms travelers can rent from locals. A horseback ride tour will take you to a coffee, rum and sugar farm. The caballeros all hung out while we tasted rum and coffee. Look at that machete! He is the son of the owner of the tobacco farm. He rolled that cigar right in front of us. About an hour away by scooter is a small fishing village, Puerto Esperanza, that has zero tourists. I loved it. Varadero, Cuba Varadero is a beautiful beach about two hours east of Habana. Varadero is famous for its clear water. It was insanely beautiful! The famous 50s style taxis. Can you see what's in the background? My favorite part of Varadero is exploring the caves. This is Cueva de Saturno, which is a drive from Varadero but it's worth it. You can swim in it! You can't swim in Cueva de Ambrosio but it does have bats and cave drawings! It's a great stop when it rains. 1 Comment
